Empowered People Reaching Out are people with developmental disabilities who gather together in regular meetings across Butler County (Ohio) in local restaurants, public libraries, and at each other’s homes, to work on issues that give meaning to our lives.

December 1, 2010: EPRO Holiday Celebration!




 




EPRO celebrated the holidays at Miami University in Hamilton with dinner, dancing, and remebering all that they accomlpished in 2010, including:

  • Co-sponsoring (with advocates from Hamilton, Montgomery and Delaware Counties) 20 YEARS OF THE AMERICAN WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA):   WE’VE COME A LONG WAY… WHAT’S NEXT?  125 advocates from across Ohio came to Wright State University for a weekend-long conference at which EPRO members and other advocates coordinated workshops and activities..
  • Raising over1200.00 for the EPRO Housewarming Fund, a charitable initiative that awards $100 grants to people with devleopmental disabilities in Butler County who are moving into their own homes for the first time
  • Mentoring high school students with disabilities

Over 70 EPRO members, staff, volunteers and family showed up for the December 1 event.  The group also voted in new co-leaders for 2011...
